The belt less wonders ?
It has been more than a couple years since I was involved with the education system, yet this subject appears to be in the fore front of so many social issues. Would having a law requiring that everyone must pull up their pants, tuck in their shirts and no mid-drifts allowed, be over exercising the legal system ? Where has the right to be an individual gone to? How important of an issue is this really?
Presenting a law that requires this certain kind of dress code will not in the long run shorten the number of murders committed every year. It also will not cut down on the numbers of young adults engaged in a sexual relationship and will not decrease the number of illegitimate children born in this country alone. Nor will this law decrease crime as whole.
So exactly what are we asking that this type of law do for us? Not to show or expose any more underwear or skin than possible? Look to your advertisers on television. In one hour there are more sexually implied underwear , clothing, female and male personal hygiene products being shown than there are people on the streets showing off boxers or skin or g-string underwear.
If a law can not actually help prevent a negative social impact that would protect the lives and welfare of all citizens, then what has the law provided in the change for the betterment of the general population? If there is no actual improvement from having such a law then I see no reason to let Uncle Sam chose any one of my outfits, not for today and never for any of my tomorrows.
