Many new entrepreneurs may think a domain name will magically attract
prospective clients to their cash register. Be also weary of web design
companies that will create you a website for a large fee. Most will take your money and run. I know I have been there. Two types of websites are to be distinguished:
Informative sitting ducks and E-commerce taking orders via a secure payment method.

A long and hard to remember URL name will hurt you in the long run. Most people
enjoy a short and easy to memorize clever name. Simple and to
the point is the rule of thumb. I have seen incredibly long names to make
you cry even if Jerry Lewis would be in town. Remember as someone said to me:
"My memory is great, just short."

The first question is: What do you want your website to do? Do you wish blogs, forums, ideas, interactive reports and suggestions? A good name I have found for meaning of my children's first names is www.behindthename.com Camille comes from "Camillus, legendary warrior, maiden of the Volscians" and created by Virgil in Aeneid. Michel my name comes from the Hebrew Mikkael meaning "Who is like God".

To be able to find a relevant and memorable name, first I would go to www.nameboy.com
you can check if your idea for a name be it .com or .biz is already taken. For an organization, I have seen mkesheriff.org for Milwaukee Sheriff.org Pretty clever and

If you want to build a sample website for free, you may go to www.homestead.com
and see other designs that would suit your needs. A web hosting company is www.godaddy.com or www.register.com will show you for a few dollars how to choose a good name. Mosaicwebdesigns.com is surely a long name but I found it interesting
for those who do not wish to build their own site. Note also that great names like
youtube.com or myspace.com are attracting millions.

For my writing ventures www.lulu.com is what is coming in terms of publishing venues. lulu means read and read..and 900,000 visitors come every week to the site. I have never heard of a long winding website name that attract millions of special visitors. My new website for guiding U. S visitors to France is coming up.
