Homophobia: My views

Go Straight? No Go Forward.

I have never added a title to anything I have ever written, whether it is essays or articles until I was satisfied that it was worthy. In college I never did the English class, clustering of ideas, brainstorming, doing an outline then starting to formulate a concise predictable result. I like to fly by the seat of my pants, see where my thoughts and emotions take me, so I close my eyes, and let my fingers act as the liaison between my ideas and the finished product. They are an extension connecting my exuberance to the keyboard. I see writing as an outlet, not a formulated and exact science. Of course there are grammatical rules and regulations that I do subscribe to, but as even the language I write in is a hodge podge of many. Indeed, even the verbal communication we speak is a contradiction, rules preceded by exceptions. Not one of us left elementary school without the valuable lesson "I before E except after C." I wonder why we never question this bastardization, we simply just try to commit these inconsistencies to memory via practical application and hope that there aren't anymore.

Perhaps it is just in my nature to find my own way, on paper and in life. I see many rules and regulations as guidelines, suggestions, not the letter of the law. My propensity to look outside the metaphoric box allows my creative juices to flow, to enable alternative perspectives, and different points of view. Challenging comes naturally to me. I am one of the obnoxious ones to ask WHY?" Not necessarily a favorite among religious leaders and professors, the end result a dialogue into a direction not found on the outline, guideline or timeline.

I don't have a blueprint, a tried and tested method of writing or even living. I have realized some things along the way, like I tend to be drawn in a certain direction or way of thought, which I would like to see as being tolerant, open and understanding. Yes, I have much more to learn. But how I learn is by basing current events against previous examples, finding the similarities or inconsistencies, and chalk it all up to experience or by Divine will.

Everyone has their own method to their madness and mine is definitely not for the weary, or the sane. I would rather jump right in than to realize that I don't know what I am doing. As I see it I will eventually and that is good enough for me. One of my favorite phrases is "Fake it till you make it," which I totally understand
