How many times have you seen the commercial "Can you hear me now? Good." The ubiquitous Verizon. They introduced the "In" plan which allows free in-network calling. On the surface, it is such a great plan. It's great as long as you are willing to put up with their shortcomings in all the other areas. Lately it has become more and more obvious to me that they are less interested in customer service and more about appearing to be interested.
For example, you can not pay your phone bill to an actual person when you go in the store. There is a machine, similar to an ATM, and you have to insert your money for payment. Here is the kicker! If the machine is not working, you can not pay your bill! Someone will stand by like they are going to help, but in the end they do not provide any assistance. No one will accept money for your cell phone bill payment. It would make more sense if they did not take any money in the store. But they accept payment when you want to BUY a phone or accessories. But they penalize you for making payments in the store. I think that is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.
They boast that they have "the most reliable network". At one time that claim was totally accurate. In the past, there were places where I had full bars and all my friends with other cell phone carriers had none. But these days, it seems the opposite is true. How can this be? I am with Verizon!
I wish I had my old Verizon back. I miss the days where they would care about the service I received and worked to make sure that I am a satisfied customer. All the money I pay every month for my cell phone, I expect to get some decent quality of service. The fact that 75% of the phone calls I make and receive are included in my cell phone plan is the only reason I have not changed carriers. But that does not mean that I am not examining every cell phone promotion from other carriers to see what they have to offer. If I can find one that better fits my needs, I am definitely changing if Verizon does not shape up.
