Give Me That Old Time Religion

Yes! It's good enough for me! There is nothing in this world like it and although the phrase to many of us means the way church was when we grew up with all the shouting and waving hankies and praising the Lord, to some of us we still are able to experience fellowship the same way today. I would not want to take away from any fo the writers here who have wrote such wonderful articles. I just wanted to add a little different dimension by writing my recent weekend happenings.

Since Friday Sept. 7 our church has had what we call an Association. The title of ours is Tri-State Zion and we met with three other associations that we correspond with and had services Friday, Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night, and Sunday. Two tents 40x80 size were put up by the men to have service in and to feed the congregation for all three days. The church was used for the Business meetings while service was going on in one of the tents. This was the 159 th session of our assoc. I have a little apartment out back of our house so I was prepared to keep at least ten people with privacy for all of them in both houses. Well as it turns out I had nada, none.

Was I disappointed? Yes in a way, but when evening came it felt mighty good to get to rest a bit before preparing for the next day.
Then Saturday after dinner when we were cleaning the tables off in almost 100 degree heat, I nearly sank down and had to be administered to by several brothers and sisters. I was probably about to have a heat stroke or at least heat exhaustion. I can't remember anything that was said to me there at one point. I came home, rested for about an hour did my cooking for Sunday and went to sleep about 9pm, the earliest I've been to sleep in weeks. I was not able to make it back Sunday. During the time for this association a sweet sister passed away from
