Lack of religion in schools and how it has affected children

As a child I was schooled in a Catholic school. Our mornings started of with a prayer to thank God for the life we were living and to ask Him to help guide us through another day. We respected our teachers and our parents. There was no violence in our schools.
I look at the children today and how the schools have changed over the years. The children have a right to their say and their opinions. We were taught right from wrong and it helped us to grow into loving and understanding adults with much love and respect to offer others.

If the children today can't respect their parents and their piers, how can they be expected to have respect for themselves.
We never just spoke with respect but we dressed respectively. Children are not made to be children today, they seem to know everyones business and are too quick to give their opinion on things that don't concern them. I can't help but feel it started with the first mistake when religion was removed from the schools, then they took away the discipline and then went the respect. Yes lack of religion in schools have definitely affected the children, too many people looked at it as though religion was pushed down their children's throats but it was only meant to be a guidance to start our day, to help lead us in the right direction.
