As we come up to the anniversary of 9/11 we are somewhat safer then we were before, we are able to seek out 'chatter' from our enemies, our airport security has improved(we think) and we have changed how we cross the North American border. Before 9/11 we took security for granted but now we must do more.Cities of all shapes and sizes should receive money from the government to help combat this growing need. All to often big cities such as New York and Los Angeles are rewarded with more money and yes, they do need it but smaller cities are just as vulnerable to terror as the big cities are.Ports of call have been neglected for far too long and with the growing importing of goods more security staff must be on hand to check everything that arrives at our ports. As individuals we must do our part to help secure our lands. If we see something that we don't think is right wouldn't we report it to the authorities? Yes, we do it because we want a safe environment in which to live in. We must be one step ahead of the terrorists for they are thinking of other ways to harm us and with the upcoming elections in the U.S. terrorism is one of the biggest issues with each of the candidates. We don't need one day in September to remind us that terrorism will ever go away.
