Although I don't have any children myself, I have seen plenty of parents yell at, scream at, and even hit their children in public. No matter where you go, whether it be the grocery store, on the bus or subway, or even in church, parents will discipline their children if they do something wrong.

Sometimes when I see a mother discipline her child in a way that I don't agree with, I would just like to walk up and tell her what she's doing to that child, but in my case, I just simply mind my own business. In this day and age, you don't know if the mother has a gun or a knife on her, and I could be putting my own life in danger. And besides, she could just simply tell me to mind my own business, and that she will discipline her child as she sees fit.

If you do see a parent going way too far, it's best to go to the authorities and let them handle it. In fact, and as far as I know, doctors and teachers are required by law to report suspcious cases of child abuse.
