Poetry: Pregnancy

Significance of Birth

Radiance
swept across a brow
The brilliance of re-creation magnified
visage sun-kissed by angelic grace
inner beauty reaching from within a secret place
Explored by many inhabited by few
The sole inhabitant
a tiny you

now a virgin flower
budding from within
rich soil of expectation
Consuming every plan
Then hope wraps itself in mirth
anticipation fully blooms
Pregnant with inconceivable possibilities
For the seedling in the womb

Waxen belly
fills with life
The seed of plenty
Harvest ripe

Anguish and love
Intertwined into one
Painfully existing
As the fulfilled time comes

Breathlessly, fearfully
Forcing time
Releasing life
Once inseparable
Now unwinding

Fullness dissipating
pangs of birth
Challenging internal strength
Measuring worth

In one moment
the exactness incalculable
It all makes sense
life's greatest rewards come from hence
hope, dreams, and possibilities
Delivered from the inside out
