TAJ MAHAL
Taj Mahal is simply another wonder to behold; it depicts a beautiful edifice revealed in specific beauty, environmental-friendly and architectural details. Objects are depicted in their most beautiful nature, radiating the glory that could have been otherwise latent. Humans are in awe, willing to share the astonishments that fill their imagination and rattle their minds on the experience of being a part of the Crowning Palace', the Taj Mahal.; they are seen emerging and entering from the gorgeous landscape with adoration for the ingenuity of men who lived in ages past. No one would see such a building and not conclude that it is simply beyond accurate description; even the blind man can sense the tranquility around it! Really what strikes me is the symmetry of the elements of this symbol of love.
The Taj Mahal was built in the 17th century in Agra, India by an Islamic Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan who died in 1666 C.E. He built the Crowning Palace in memory of his wife and Queen Mumtaz Mahal, in fulfillment of one of the promises extracted from the emperor by this Persian Princess. Mumtaz died in Burhanpur while on a journey with Shan in a bid to crush a rebellion; it was a traumatic experience for the emperor. Work started in 1631, completed in 22years involved twenty thousand workers, about 1000elephants for the transportation of construction materials from around Asia and was led by the genius, Ustad Isa.
The building is best described in the poetic words of Sir Edwin Arnold, as "Not a piece of architecture, as other buildings are, but the proud passions of an emperor's love wrought in living stones." This clearly defines the underlying truth that propelled the strength of time, resources and brains put into the work until it became a finished product which human eyes can not fully comprehend. A minute glimpse of understanding can however be caught if one looks at is as a tribute to a beautiful woman. One then sees all the parts well fitted in different perspectives to appreciating the elegance of God's wonder piece, the woman. It is simply beautiful. It shows the power of love and what integrity can achieve. The symmetry is a teacher of organization, and the landscape a tutor on how to be friendly with nature at sunset and dawn, times when the glimpse can best be captured. What an edifice based on love and integrity! Taj Mahal.
