Euthanasia is unethical and a step away from the beginning of the end for our nation. Once upon a time things were different. Human life was sacred. People would gasp at abortion. Now people gasp at other things. Human babies don't need our protection. The whales and the trees need our protection. What's wrong is right. What's right is wrong.

Things that caused shock and gasps from our nation no longer cause concern as our society sinks lower and lower, almost unrecognizable from sixty years ago. Our country seems paralyzed or indifferent to do anything. Maybe we are just too busy making ends meet for our families. Maybe it's meant to be because the Bible shows things in our future world getting worse instead of better.

By eliminating the most defenseless people in our nation, the very young through abortion and the very old through euthanasia, we have become a nation on a downward spiral, out of control, never to return to our prime.

America was different from the rest of the world. Not anymore. Now there is no difference. How sad. America is fast becoming another third world country as the gulf between rich and poor widens, as the middle class slowly disappears.

Can't people see that as euthanasia becomes more and more acceptable, other atrocities will follow and become the norm? We have already started down the slippery slope. It won't apply just to the elderly. Mental retardation? Cerebral palsy? Parkinson's disease? Put them out of their misery. After all, it's quality of life, not quantity. Why should they have to suffer? After all, it's for their own good. It's for the good of humanity. Who will be eliminated next?

We have become little gods following our own rules and guidelines. Anything goes. Unfortunately, it's probably too late for our country to go back. The United States is a runaway train, out of control and headed for disaster.

Gloom and doom? Yes. It's amazing we haven't self-destructed, like Rome. But God is gracious and faithful, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Repentance is the only hope. Repentance may not save our nation but it will save the individual, one at a time. We have to change and start over, returning to decency. Will it happen? Miracles still happen every day.
