The difference between government-controlled media and corporate-controlled media

What is the difference between government-controlled media and corporate-controlled media?

The media is corporately owned and benefits financially from government policies. These corporations have developed a synergistic relationship with our elected officials. The effect of this relationship in extremely harmful, because it is not concerned with what is best for our country, but rather what is best for their bottom line. These corporations control our economy to a very large degree, e.g., oil, banking, arms manufacturers, utilities, mining, communications, for profit health care and insurance, farming, etc.. The administration hires top administrator from these corporations, who then regulate the industries from which they came. When the administration changes, these appointees simply return to their corporations or become lobbyist using their former positions, to influence and maintain corporate control over our government. This process is commonly known as the "revolving door".

The consolidation of media is very harmful to our democracy, as it closes the door on truth and leaves the common people, U.S. Citizens, in darkness. I believe that this is a betrayal of the purpose and intent of the Constitution of the United States, as our constitution and bill of rights grants sovereignty, ownership of our nation to the common people.

The First Amendment of the Constitution provides for freedom of the press. This freedom was granted to the press, media, so that the press would be able to inform the people, as to whether or not our government is operating in the interests of common the people. The press has a duty to examine and investigate government officials and agencies, and to report whether they are acting in the interests of the people. The press is obligated to expose wrong doing or any actions carried out by our government, that are not in the interest of the people of the United States. The press by holding true to their constitutional obligation performs an invaluable service to the nation. The media, however, has lost sight of its purpose. It seems that they have become a part of the government, the propaganda branch, but are acting under a pretense of independence.

It saddens me to report that I have lost all confidence in the media, because they have become the voice of government, against the interests of the people of the United States. When I turn on the Media, I hear lies, and more lies. When will it end? I believe that this government-corporate cabal is extremely detrimental to our democracy and freedoms.

What has happened to our country? What has happened to freedom of the press? The truth is that there is no real real media today. Further, there is the "revolving door" that ensures that this relationship between government and corporations will continue in perpetuity, as one hand washes the other. We must take back our country and our government, as it rightfully belongs to us, the common people.

In America, the people are the sovereigns, unlike other nations of the world, where their people are incidental and mere servants of their governments. This is the beauty of America, a shinning light, a beacon of freedom for all the world to see!

The first step in the problem solving process, is to identify the problem. We must admit that there is a problem. Our elections system is completely corrupt. It is a system of bribery, which must be outlawed, and classified as a felonious. Secondly, we must insist on an elections system that is absolutely transparent and publicly financed. This then will begin the return of power to the common people. So lets awake out of sleep, and lets get this done now!
