Outdoor toys: The most popular toys for fresh air fun

Who can beat outdoor fun? With the wind in your hair, the sun on your face, and the ants between your toes who could ask for more? Well most kids ask for plenty more. With such a wide variety of toys made for the outdoors these days, finding something your child will actually play with that is safe can be such a challenge. But look no further than your own childhood to entertain your own children. The same toys that were popular for us are the same toys flying off the store shelves today.

Let's go fly a kite. Kites are bigger and better than ever. You can get the same plastic character kites that have been available for years and years or for just a few dollars more you can now get a nylon kite that will last for a long time.
Wiggle your hips and watch your kids laugh with a hula hoop. Such an inexpensive circle can be so much fun.
Blow bubbles and watch'em pop. Now there are so many bubble making toys it is unreal. But there is nothing like digging that soapy stick out of the bubbles bottle and blowing them yourself.
Sidewalk chalk was honestly not around when I was a kid, but my kids love it. What a wonderful way for children to express themselves and it's gone with the next rain.
Slip n slides have gotten bigger and better over the years too. Now you can even get blow up water slides that you actually climb up and slide down into a pool at the bottom. But kids still love the old fashioned slip n slides. It is so much fun getting a run and go and flopping on your belly to slide right through the pool at the end onto the grass.
Sprinklers have also improved over the years. But if you want to see your children smile drag out the old yard sprinkler that goes up and over, back and forth rainbow manner.
A bicycle is not only excellent exercise; it is also a favorite outdoor activity for children. Teaching a child to ride is also an excellent way to spend quality time with your family.
Now what child can resist a ball? It could be a football, basketball, baseball, kick ball, or just a plain old rubber ball. The ball is still a very popular toy. And as every parent knows, it is so much better played outside.
Playing outside has been around since Adam and Eve. And while they didn't have the toy choices that children have today, many of the popular toys today are the same ones that have been around for years.
