You are allowed to be sad about gaining weight. Your friends think it's cute when you cry during diaper commercials. But, for some reason, when you tell them you're sad about stacking on 40 lbs in 6 months, they look at you like you're the most insensitive, self-centered woman they have ever met.
You and your body are doing some amazing work. Let it do what it needs to do. If it needs to make you eat KFC for breakfast every day, then eat KFC for breakfast every day and stop fighting. Relish in the delicious fried chicken and let it make you feel better emotionally.
Obviously, I'm not a doctor. After all, I just told you to eat fried chicken to cure your sadness. This paragraph doesn't really have a point, other than to point out that I am not a doctor and that fried chicken will, in fact, make you feel better.
I gained sixty pounds in my first pregnancy. Almost half of it came off in the first two months, and I didn't do anything. I sat on a Boppy and sulked about my sore lady parts. Then I got pregnant again. I'm two days from my due date as I write this, and I'm about twenty pounds heavier than I was when I gave birth to my first. I barely fit through most doorways. But hey, when I ask people how I look, no one has the guts to tell me that I remind them of elephants. They tell me I look adorable, and I believe their lies. Like fried chicken which is full of empty calories, the compliments make me feel better in their empty sincerity.
Good luck!
