What is the basis of comparison for these movies? Is it effects? Is it straight story? The entire first series qualifies by these criteria. Admittedly the effects in Episode I and II were far better than the original Star Wars but they were filler to get to Episode III the story was so lacking in I and II that by the time episode III was created every thing that happened could be predicted.

I still live with the memory of my first viewing of Episode IV. It will live inside of me till my dying day. Reading the book enhanced my appreciation of the movie.

Episode III while having many continuity errors that should never have been allowed rocked my world. Even though I could predict almost every happening some new things were added that could not be predicted.

I guess If I had to decide which of the six movies I could not live with out It would be Episode IV a new hope. It was complete in and of itself as all movies should be. Its effects while nothing special today were revolutionary when the movie came out. The story left nothing to be desired. None of the other five movies can say this.
