Tottenham Hotspur are more than capable to break into the top four this season, This year i predict good things from spurs, they've progressed well over the past couple of seasons and think this year i think will be there best yet.
Martin Jol came in and sorted out there notoriously weak midfield. Even with the loss of talented play maker Carrick. The questions for the club now are, will the potentially exciting strike force deliver, and can they avoid the defensive howlers that have cost them too many results in recent years.
Under Glenn Hoddle the club went through a period when there squad was constantly besieged with injuries. The club seem to have passed that jinx onto newcastle, plus they have a deeper talent pool now.
Martin jol has brought in some quality players to the club: Gareth Bale, Adel Taarabt, Yuri Berchiche, Younes Kaboul ,Danny Rose, Kevin-Prince Boateng,
Darren bent, Not quite Fernando Torres, but international level striker Darren Bent is a club record 16.5m expenditure, a fee higher than Thierry Henry commanded in a move from the unnameable to Barcelona, and dwarfing the previous club transfer record of 11m which bought Sergei Rebrov. with maybe more to follow.
with last season coming down to the final day to determine whether spurs would be in Europe one point against City would have been enough, but a loss, along with wins for Bolton and Reading, would have left them outside the uefa spots. spurs won the game 2.1 and set up another European campaign for the following season.
an impressive first season for berbatov fired spurs up the table now with bent more goals are certain and a champions league spot is on the horizon.
They have paid a lot of money to strengthen, but unlike in previous years, the outlay looks to make serious sense.
Bent, for example, is a fast, clinical finisher, he doesn't shy away from hard work, he's good in the air, strong, and a team player. Add him up front to Berbatov, with Keane and defoee and they have got a strike force thats up there challenging the likes of liverpool and utd in finishing talent.
This season they have a real chance of success and i think it will come, they have the chance to be as good as there rivals arsenal and this season i think they will be.
