Smoking should be banned in all interior public spaces

Cigarettes are still legal? it's amazing that we can go to a public establishment, intoxicate ourselves, thus poisoning our bodies, putting our lives and the lives of everyone else in danger and get into our cars and drive home. now of course driving under the influence is illegal, but does that stop people from doing it? it's amazing how we can go to a fast food restaurant and eat the biggest, greasiest burger that will clog our arteries; we can get on our motorcycles without a helmet thus endangering our selves, and I can be forced to pay a fine for getting into my car without wearing my seatbelt. Where do we draw the line? How many studies have to be done on smoking for not only the law makers to do something about it, but for the smokers to have some respect for not only themselves but people around them?

It's bad enought that I've got to breathe in every other pollutant that we are putting into the atmosphere, but excuse me if I don't want to directly breathe in the horrible fumes of cigarette smoke. I stood up and cheered the day that the lawmakers banned smoking inside public places. How selfish can smokers be that they feel their rights are being infringed upon. They do have the right to smoke outside by themselves and not putting anybody else at risk.

I used to smoke cigarettes in high school, thankfully quit after only 2 years and have seen both sides of the coin. I never disrespected the rights of non-smokers by smoking around them against their will.

My advice to smokers - respect the body that God gave you. It wasn't given to you to destroy. You will live a happier, healthier life.
