Where I live the birds sing not just because it is daybreak but because they are joyful to live another day in this place. I awake and slowly come to. I remember where I am and feel so happy as well! I am lucky and I appreciate my blissful Island.
Here there is no traffic. No cars and fumes to destroy the clear, fresh air that I breath in and out. There are no queues! No queues of traffic or people at checkouts!
That is because where I live there are no cars, no lorries , not even a milk float. There are no lines of people waiting to purchase an item or pay a bill.
I am on a tiny island, of three miles by two and a half. People who live here love and cherish their home. They pick up litter if they see it. They care for one another. If a neighbor is sick or hasn't been seen for a short while then they investigate. They collect any medication needed. They cook the sick persons dinner. They smooth the tired and furrowed brow of their neighbor. They lend a listening ear or a shoulder where it is welcome.
The island where I live is beautiful. It is windswept and colorful. It has been taken over more by nature than by man and so has a quality and charm that is rarely seen in out modern times.
I still have the Internet as you see! I still have modern conveniences but I also have peace and I have quiet. I have the sounds of the sea and the babbling brook. I hear the birds and the wind through the trees on stormy nights. I don't hear the sound of the electric hammer drill in pavement as we have none. I do not hear the sound of the siren as we have none and no danger befalls us.
If I didn't like where I live then I would have to be stark raving mad! I wish that you can have what I have. Be happy where you live and see how special it is, and if it isn't, move to where you can be happy too.
