Flowers wilted and withered away
Even though the rain falls each day
Distant lands separate the lovers
Hearts beat as one - each have a half.
Lightning plays in the distant sky
Teardrops as the Earth does cry
Swollen eyes turn red with blood
Drenched by the torrid flood.
Love is like the flame calling the moth
Summoning you to the fire
Killing you with feelings so good
Kindling the funeral pyre.
Fires burn in the night fueled by love
A destructive force killing all it touches
Burning all in consumption
What can be left in its wake
Consuming all the good - leaving only hate.
