All industry and services are in the business of making profits. This in itself lays down a marker as to the direction that business takes in society. So, you can have the very successful business person accumulating sufficient money to make themselves comfortable beyond question. These people tend to become either philanthropists of the highest order or spend their time undertaking 'dare-devil' adventures! In these ways, they make their business concerns hugely popular, appealing to masses of people as terribly generous! This of course is way superior to the business person who keeps it all to him or herself!

In today's world of heavy pollution and intense industry, the protection of the environment should be highly prioritized. In the small business concern, all waste should be segregated and disposed of safely. This would not necessarily earn small business accolades but would signal some form of leadership and guidance in the local communities in which the service industry, in particular, is located. There could be joint campaigns with schools and local industry providing sponsorship and organization of these community events.

Finally, business can play a big part in enriching the areas in which they are located. They should provide funding for the local sports events, identify with the various projects that all sectors of the neighborhood involve themselves in - these can range from the most humble charity in the district to the most strident committee for the development of the region!
