ski resorts. Incredible skiing, packages to fit every pocketbook, plush and quaint Tahoe has something to satisfy everyone.

Alpine Meadows and Homewood offer combo passes to ski both resorts for one price.

Heavenly straddles the Nevada/California line on the southernmost part of the lake. The sun is shining almost everyday. 4500 acres of mostly intermediate and expert skiing are accessed by thirty lifts for speedy returns. With the casinos next door and unlimited draft beer at the base Heavenly is party central.

Northstar is the place for boarders and extremist with 2280 feet in vertical drop, 5 terrain parks, 6 adventure parks, super and half pipes. It consistently ranks in the top five for boarders in the US.

Donner Ski ranch is the most affordable in the area. There are 52 runs and six lifts but no lines. $30 a day lift tickets and a room for four for only $100 a night makes this affordable for almost anyone.

Squaw Valley is by far the busiest and some say the snobbiest of all the California snow spots. The chutes are wicked, the skiing challenging but it remains family friendly. The beginners get to ski on the summit with incredible views of the lake and high Sierras. Ski magazine has ranked Squaw Valley as number four in terrain and everyone seems to agree. Ski professionals abound here and it is not unusual to see them lined up at 7 am on a Monday to get fresh tracks.

Ski Northern California for the most comprehensive, memorable ski experience in the world. California resorts as a whole take the attitude that everyone can ski so all can enjoy.
