Poetry: Saying goodbye

Goodbye Daddy

Goodbye daddy it's hard to see you go
Just can't imagine, life without you
my loss will always show

I feel like I am in a cloud
and it's all just a dream
Suddenly I'm awakened
by my heart wrenching screams

I just want everything
to be like it was
No more crying
no circle of fuzz

The reality of this
I keep outside
I still can't face it
instead I hide

I am still not ready
to admit that you're gone
I can still hear you
singing your song

Your smile ignited
when you entered the room
You always cheered others
no matter their gloom

You touched my life
more than you know
You made quite a difference
which, in many ways show

We were best friends
everything we shared
You never had a problem
showing how much you cared

We laughed together
over nothing, it seemed
And when you smiled
your eyes truly gleamed

I will miss your smile
I will miss your face
But most of all
I will miss your faith

You always taught me
to put it in God's hands
I'll have to do that now
because this was in His plans

God has called you home
to be with Him in eternity
You were His faithful servant
that all could clearly see

Goodbye daddy it's hard to see you go
Just can't imagine, life without you
My loss will always show
