profitability!
can you turn inanity
into beauty?

or is it just the case
that no matter whether
or not i am a real poet,
the bilge i write on here
isn't better than the art
i write out there...

even when the bilge turns
to perl code cutting, to
html fragment mosaicing
to keywords and phrases and
pageranks and all that ejazz

even when I get paid more money
an hour than half the world's
labourers make in a year

can you turn sick pointless
flatulent abuse of language
into art?

i fart out this rubbish and
you pay me, oh profitability

but you can't make your stay
the way art can, the way what
is free, and without payment,
will always do

i may write this shite now
but as it was before it will be
again, the shite will be eclipsed
by my talents and the art of my soul
