Critique of Wicca: Roots in Satanism

not 'oppose' the currently set governmental limitations, statutes or tenants, they cannot possibly cause social breakdown.

The next part of the debate was familial breakdown. This fear alone has been the driving force of many monotheistic foundations against many other much needed changes in our lifetime. From civil rights for homosexuals/bisexuals and transgendered persons, to those who wish to practice alternative religion, the 'family protection' comment has existed. In this country, the term family weighs heavily on governmental law. During the inception of this country, family was thought of as the supreme glue which held the colonies together. Having a strong sense of what was right in your own house allowed you to transition those needs and desires onto what was needed in an ideal state. Because of this, any religion, or act, that goes against the traditional monotheistic mindset will eventually have an argument about family values.

Let us address, however, the familial breakdown, if any, of alternative, earth-based religions, such as Wicca and Druidic beliefs. In these two systems of thought, understanding nature, being kind to your fellow man, worshiping the gods/goddesses whom you will, and then finally, sharing your knowledge with those you love, these two religions speak heavily of familial values. Many of the tenants found within the 'commandments' of mainstream monotheistic belief are echoed by alternative religions: 'One should not steal, one should not cheat on their loved ones, one should not covet what others have, one should not murder or harm another, one should not lie, ect'. In fact, in the Wiccan religion the 'three-fold law' is a grim reminder of what happens when we break with tradition and start to harm another. In the Druidic belief system, harming another is harming nature. Each person, their family, and life, belongs to nature. We are a part of nature, and thus, when we harm ourselves or others, we harm nature. It is a major 'sin', if you will, to do this.

Next, on the familial issue, is the closeness that families share during practiced ritual, or worship. The traditional monotheistic family may attend church/spiritual meetings, once per week or even up to three times per week. They may say a prayer each night, or read from their holy text as well. However, on average, the traditional monotheistic family does not do this on a daily basis. To many, being spiritual once a week, and 'believing' in your 'god', will redeem you for a
