Is it truly possible to work at home? Yes it is. I have worked at home for almost four years now and really enjoy it.

If you are searching for a job to do from home it is imperative that you use your common sense.

Think about it. How many times in the outside world have you went to a potential employer and been asked to pay a fee? Chances are that the answer is "never".

Employers never ask you to pay money in order to get a job. They pay you!

When you are searching for a work at home job you will run across a million websites that promise you can make money and they have thousands of companies just waiting for you to work for them. This is especially true of data entry and typing jobs.

Before you hand over your money take a deep breath and think about it. What are you expecting? Do they really have thousands of companies waiting to hire you? The answer is no. They will however sell you information on how to start a business using ad placement and affiliate links.

If you really want to work at home and have a job versus a business you need to go to the right sources. There are companies who will hire people to work from home. Go to the telecommuting section at www.katieshugs.com or the telecommuting section at wahm.com and start applying for the type of jobs you are skilled at.

You will want to have a resume prepared to send in with your application and you will be asked for references and some companies also require a background check.

Keep in mind that these jobs are incredibly hard to get. The competition is fierce and it can take months or more than a year before you find a job. In the meantime look at other resources.

Check around your own town and see if there are places where you could get hired and work from home. If you are currently working talk to your employer and see if working at home might be a possibility for you.

Working from home can be a reality but it is up to you to make it happen.
