Plans and details , those are my two middle names so when it came to planning my vacation I set to it like a lion stalking its next meal. I have always been aggressive and a little edgy when making arrangements for a vacation. I am the guy that wants to get the most for my money, so I turned to the Internet.

This vacation was a little different than most that I had planned and been on. I had booked a trip for a month on-line for me and my two step-sons and girlfriend. We had applied for our passports and had only given one month for them to come in. I booked the trip for Paris, Amsterdam, London and Egypt and we all got to packing for an adventure of a lifetime , only to realize that our passports may not be in in time ! I called the agent and he said there was no problem and changed our dates for 2 months later. Now we were all packed and no place to go for 2 months !

My step-sons were 18 and 19 years old and were jumping out of their skins wanting to go somewhere .. Anywhere ! I thought about it and it was September and we live in Texas so I had a great thought. I know that September in Mexico is the off-season so I got back on the Internet to the website and looked for Mexico. That was the beginning of a great vacation for us all.

I looked and found 4-star accommodations in Puerto Vallarta for 50 dollars a day ! Not each ... Total ! That was 12.50 USA a day to stay on the beach in a 4-star hotel. I couldn't pass it up. I looked at the location and the hotel and it was very informative. It showed the room , restaurant, and everything the hotel had to offer. It also had a virtual tour of the place. I had been to Puerto Vallarta many times so I knew it was beautiful , and romantic.

I immediately booked the package and told the family to re-pack for summer ! Instead of going to a winter destination we would be going to the most beautiful beaches and weather imaginable. Needless to say, my family was elated.

When we arrived at the airport in Mexico the bus was there for us and we were treated to first-class accommodations. The only reason I could see that the place was not a 5-star is because there was no golf course. It was not in the "New" Puerto Vallarta but closer to the old city. I preferred the old city because you can get better deals on souvenirs and jewelry. From the hotel there was easy access to the buses and taxi.

The place was fantastic even for a man like me who had been there over six times. We stayed a month and was going to stay longer but hurricane
