There is another obstacle which is somewhat rare, but not entirely exclusive to me, in that my personality and looks seem to stereotypically be in direct contradiction. I am a self-directed man who is very much in tune with the universe around me. To put it short, I am extremely spiritual. I am also a romantic and an intellectual. The fact that my appearance is more that of a bouncer in a topless club, only leads to the raising of eyebrows.

I, like so many of my roadie brothers have no problem attracting women. In fact, because of our occupation we probably have a higher success rate than the average Joe. The problem for me is that I am not attracted to the type of women that my looks attract-Dilemma, dilemma.

I am certain that if I were a bit more stationary, I could shop at the same stores, work out at the same gym, work in the same office, ect. And the women who like the bad boy looks, yet desire a bit more substance in a man, would eventually come to see these traits in me, and presto a new relationship could bloom. Unfortunately, this is not my world.

All of this was the reason I turned to the Web. Regardless of where I was in the country, there was a description of my personality, along with my face that could be seen in the same place day after day, and night after night.

It was only a matter of time that one day the right one was going to come along, and she did!

Of course I met some of the same types of women that I had been meeting on the road, but through my unwillingness to compromise, and a deep conviction, I clung to the dream that somewhere, there was a soul who like me, was just waiting for her dream to be discovered.

I should also mention that her past was also fraught with unhealthy, manipulative, and dishonest relationships.

Too many E-mails to count, and several eight hundred dollar phone bills later, I eventually found myself standing face to face with the woman of my dreams.

It was one of those love at first sight type of feelings. The only problem is that I did not believe in such things. At first I thought it might be something more along the lines of lust at first sight. Then after further reflection and paying the latest in a series of phone bills equivalent to most peoples mortgage payments, I realized that I did indeed love this woman. Lucky for me she felt the same.

Well I'm happy to say this all took place about six years ago. We are now married, bought a new home, and recently had a beautiful baby girl. I now have the life that most people only dream aboutall do to the invaluable service of internet dating.
