You may have heard the phrase that "everything that glitters is not gold

Thanks to the wonderful world of Internet dating, for making it possible for two people who probably would have otherwise not been able to meet-and to start what has turned out to be a wonderful relationship.

I am a Tour Bus Driver for the entertainment industry. My job has me on the road almost all year around. I am one of those guys who drive the tour busses hauling musicians and crew for various Rock, Country, Pop, and Contemporary artists while they tour the US and Canada promoting their latest albums. I have worked for groups and artists such as Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Aerosmith, Phil Collins, Britney Spears, Nsyn, Bette Middler and Neil Diamond just to name a few.

To some this may sound all very exciting. The reality is that it can be a very grueling existence. We typically drive city to city, night after night, with very little time in between. Most of our nights are spent driving till the wee hours of the morning while the rest of the country is nestled in their cozy little beds, while our days are consumed with cleaning, polishing, and maintenance of our coaches, not to mention squeezing in the hours of sleep necessary to make our next nights run.

I don't mean to sound like we have no time for fun at all. The fact is we do occasionally get a couple days off hear and there to do with what we please. I might also mention that occasionally we do get some nice perks, due to the generosity of some of the artists we work for.

Unfortunately there is a bitter sweetness to some of these gifts we receive. For most of us, we are unable to share these fun events with someone that is truly special to us. There are a very select few in this business that do enjoy the luxury of having their spouses living on the road with them. For the rest of us it can be a very lonely place. Then again, I'm not sure that statement is entirely accurate. The reason I say this is that there are a number of men in this business who do enjoy the freedom of not being tied down to one woman. They enjoy the variety of having women spread out all over the place. The fact that none of these relationships have any depth is really of no importance them. But even so, there are a number of us who actually miss that.

As you can imagine, it is extremely difficult to sustain a relationship spending as much time on the road as we do, let alone trying to start one.
