My Top 5 Walt Disney World Restaurants
Nothing brings me more pleasure than choosing where to eat during my Walt Disney World vacation! I love browsing menus online and deciding which ones sound most appetizing! With the development of the Disney Dining Plan, eating in the parks has become a most pleasurable experience, giving you much flexibility and ease in choosing your restaurants. The actual meals are nothing short of spectacular, more resembling a park attraction than a plain old dinner. Dining in Disney is part of the experience and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Without further ado, my favorites (in no particular order...it was hard enough just picking 5!):
#1- O'hana in the Polynesian Resort. What would be more perfect than dining in a Hawaiian Paradise? For those of you not familiar, O'hana means "family" and at O'hana, everyone is your "cousin"! The meal is served family style and almost immediately after being seated, your table is graced with bowls of hot steaming food! A fantastic honey-lime vinaigrette salad and fried wontons with dipping sauces. Honey coriander chicken wings are next with sweet and sour shrimp. Your "Cousin" will then bring out the most spectacular scalloped potatoes you've ever eaten along with stir-fried vegetables. Then comes the meat. Three foot skewers are filled with pork, turkey, steak and sausage that have been cooked on a huge open fire grill, where you can go up and watch. Tell your server which meats you'd like to try and they slide them onto your plate! And don't forget about dessert! Bread pudding with Bananas Foster sauce.....amazing is all I can say! And I am not fond of bread or bananas! All the while dinner is going on, the kids can leave their seats to play traditional Hawaiian games like coconut races and limbo. They also receive flower leis and learn how to do the hula!
#2- Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom. Join Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale for a fantastic meal set during the birth of our country! This character meal is in Liberty Square and stepping inside, you feel as if you have been transported back in time about 225 years. The meal is served family style as the characters visit your table one by one for crazy antics and plenty of photo ops! First up is a salad with a strawberry vinaigrette dressing and fresh baked rolls. Next comes bowls filled to the brim with awesome mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and macaroni and cheese. A platter filled with cornbread stuffing, sliced roasted turkey,
