Fred Thompson has been inserted into to mix to dilute the Republican field, providing yet another distraction for the media and voters. Are any of these so called Republicans really what they seem? Are they working for American interests? Let's look at what the term Republican actually means. The word 'Republic' features in there and the United States is meant to be a Constitutional Republic. By this measuring stick, there is only one true Republican in this 2008 Presidential race- he comes from Texas, and he is Congressman Ron Paul.
Fred Thompson's popularity is pure Teflon, another political round which looks like a high school election- as a character actor, he appeals to shallow followers like any news anchorman appeals to the masses- all image and very little substance. A "Yes Man" for the Neo-Conservative criminal outfit who are currently running our United States into the ground. The Republican Party are determined to run a field of dead horses- Mitt Romney, John McCain, Rudolph Gulliani... and now Fred Thompson. Next Condi Rice, then Oliver North? In case you haven't been watching the news closely, George Bush Senior has already chosen his candidate, and her name is Hilary Clinton(Republican sideline cheerleaders will be scratching their heads right about now).
Forget about party politics for a moment. Americans now take notice, a real patriot has entered the fold. While some of the candidates are on the down-slope, and Ron Paul's on the up-slope. Who is Vegas backing then? It may come as surprise to some, but the Las Vegas odds makers have officially backed Ron Paul to win the Republican race. How? Ron Paul's cash on hand have now put him ahead of former front-runner Senator John McCain, and Paul's efforts are gaining ground by the day. A better barometer of popularity is that he has actually raised more money from single donations than any other Presidential candidate so far. The front end of his campaign is bright and clear- leave Iraq, leave Afghanistan and not surprisingly he is getting a large block of his donations from US Military personnel. And it gets better yet. As a testament to his growing tide of popularity, his name is now number one on Google... he's just passed Paris Hilton on the search engines(that says something). If you haven't made the time to check this man out yet, now is the time to do it.
How legitimate is Fred Dalton Thompson? Well, you can now knock him down with a single swipe: his most recent claim to fame is leading the effort to raise money for Lewis "Scooter" Libby's legal defense fund and called on President Bush to pardon Libby, who was convicted this week of making false statements and obstructing justice. For any confused Americans out there, that means he helped get a convicted criminal off the hook. Scooter Libby... well done Fred.
America is beginning to find its voice- the nation is finally growing weary of yet more cronies and 'Yes Men' like Fred Thompson, men who are willing to do the bidding of a corrupt power structure. If you haven't figured out who runs the country right now, you should start paying attention before America is stripped of all vestiges a Constitutional Republic. "I think people have underestimated the number of people in this country who are interested in a freedom message," says the Republican Texas Congressman. There is only one Constitutionalist at the moment and his agenda is a brave one, his campaign growing exponentially... and that's Ron Paul (and he's a real Texan).
2008 is a genuine opportunity for change, one we have been craving for. Start talking about this guy at your dinner tables now. He's the only honest and also the only inspirational man of the moment. "Founding Father" material? Oh yes... Definitely.
