Senator Craig may or may not be a hypocritical bisexual who solicits sex behind his wife's back in public restrooms but the evidence against Senator Craig was lame at best. If he had pleaded innocent and stood his ground he would have won the legal battle but more than likely would have lost his political career.

The Senator is being accused of attempting to solicited sex. No money exchanged hands so how is to be considered as a solicitation? Is the prosecutor's argument that the Senator's thoughts should be assumed and entered as evidence? Thoughts cannot be considered as evidence, who would be the expert witness a mind reader? Hand and foot motions can easily be misunderstood, therefore not solid evidence either.

The officer made the first movement with his foot aggressively sliding it next to the Senator's foot. Maybe it was the officer that was attempting to solicit sex, which would make this a case of entrapment. Although the Senator responded with the same motion then added hand motions there was no soliciting involved.

The Senator's reactions could be construed as actions of a guilty man but the evidence is not enough to prove his guilt. This was an apparent attempt to hurt the Senator politically. If so, it was a job well done. Although the Senator's actions could be considered as inappropriate for a man of his status it is hardly worth the hard working taxpayers dollars to put this much effort into smearing his name.
