The relationship between morale and profitability in a company

Morale can make or break your company. It's not something that you can exactly change overnight either. One of the best ways to improve morale is to host fun events that disconnect your employees from the everyday work life. Below is a list of some fun ideas that you can do with the employees of your company.

Pajama Day - Have a designated day at work where all employees can where their favorite pajamas

Movie Night - Most movie theatres will allow you to rent out a movie theatre and having a private showing. Make sure you set aside some money and purchase popcorn, junk food and sodas for everyone

Bring Your Dog to Work Day - This is great as long as you don't work in the food business. Have a day where everyone can bring their dogs to work

Company BBQ - Close the office early on a Friday and have a free BBQ for your employees and their families

Shopping Spree - Grab the company credit card and take all your employees to the mall. Give everyone a walkie talkie and when they find something they want, have them radio you, then you run to them and purchase their item.

I would also like to add that morale starts with you, the leader. People learn the most by watching and observing from the leader of the company or leader. If they see you as the leader who is always upbeat, positive, persistence and ready to tackle tough problems with optimism, they are going to follow your lead.

If you're a glass half empty person who is always in a bad mood, doesn't seem upbeat and who looks to tear other people down, you will soon find yourself pulling the people of your company down with you.

I once read a great quote by the Dalai Lama where he stated, "As you transform your mind, you will transform your surroundings." How true that is! What you think about in your mind will transform and change your surroundings into what you're thinking about in your mind.

Improving morale in your company can make a huge difference in how productive everyone is. It's no secret that when your employees are having fun, they are going to give more effort and produce better results.

These were just a few crazy ideas that show you how improved morale can boost the profitability of your organization, so feel free to implement them, or create your own. Whatever you do, if you dedicate effort and time to improving the morale of your organization, you're going to improve the profitability of your organization.
