An important part of any company is leadership. Leadership is the one thing that if changed and improved, it will make a dramatic difference in how well your company operates.

Great leaders can do a lot with very little. Philip of Macedonia said, "An army of deer led by a lion is more to be feared than an army of lion led by a deer." This is one of my favorite quotes and it stands as true today as it was over 2000 years ago.

When you have a great leader, he can find a way to continue to grow and develop your company, regardless of the circumstances or the people he is working with.

Great leaders create other great leaders. Proverbs 27:17 says, "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." When you have a company with a couple of great leaders, those leaders start to cultivate other great leaders. They see the good and potential in employees and help to draw it out.

Great leaders expect greatness out of themselves and those around them. Building on my last point about how great leaders cultivate other great leaders, employees of your company will naturally start to expect greater things out of themselves. A leader does not just expect greatness out of himself, he expects greatness out of those around him.

A great leader will make the difference in an entire company. Leaders have a ripple effect that is larger than many people realize which leaves a legacy for others to follow. Find and cultivate great leaders, and you will cultivate a great company.
