The Beginning of What
"Jerk!" With laughing lips he lied.
"Idiot!" She exclaimed with twinkling eyes.
"Why are you so mean to me?"
"I'm not."
"You are."
"I don't mean to be."
His softened gaze met with hers.
Her opened mouth spoke no slurs.
"Come here," he whispered into the night.
"Come here," she challenged without any fight.
He leaned to her slowly, an inch from a kiss.
She leaned forward also, not letting him miss.
"Jerk," with laughing lips she lied.
"Idiot," he whispered with twinkling eyes.
