Tips for packing for a ski vacation

It's only two months away! The upcoming ski season is approaching like an onrushing avalanche! You've already got your two-week vacation planned around Thanksgiving to the first week of December. This year's destination is Park City, Utah. The plane tickets are in hand. The condo is reserved for three couples, including you and your woman. How and what are you going to be pack with you? Follow these tips so you can bring what is most necessary and beneficial to your vacation.

1) Consider the environment you're going to be in. Park City is very high above sea level elevation. Bring some flavored oxygen masks. Go online to find some. Maintain oxygen in your body is vital when skiing in ridiculously high altitudes.

2) Consider the weather you're going to be encountering. As I wrote in previous articles, check the weather outlook a week in advance. A wind chill advisory may mean more thermal underwear, more protective gloves, thicker socks and better insulated boots. Timberland boots work wonderful in extreme cold. You'll need protection from exposure and frostbite.

3) Consider the duration of your stay. If you're staying the entire two-weeks, bringing backups of protective clothing and accessories is necessary. You'll need enough for everyone and substitutes if certain items get lost or damaged.

4) And finally, consider the place you're staying at has an equipment shop nearby. You may not need to pack heavily, if some items are readily available at your destination. They may be more expensive there, but it will alleviate the hassle of packing and re-packing items to and from.
