Do stay-at-home moms get the recognition they deserve?

Some names have been changed to protect the innocent...

6am - Alarm clock rings, baby is awake. Get up, nurse and change the baby. Make coffee. Wake husband. Wake Kid 1, 2 and 3. Pack lunches, pack bookbags, remember ice cream money, remember to tell them to brush their teeth. Make breakfast, fix plates, help them with their hair. Help husband find matching socks...Load all 4 into the car and off we go.

Fighting over seat position. Have to stop and get gas (unload all 4 and go into pay). Arrive at school #1, drop Kid 1 and 2 off. Arrive at school #2 - Walk kid 3 to class (she is still scared). Baby and me walk back to the car, load baby and off we go. Baby is crying, screaming actually, she hates the car. Blow bubbles and sing silly songs while driving. Finally we are home...

8:15 - Fix baby her breakfast, feed baby, do dishes, clean counters, bathe baby, dry her off and put her in clothes. Put in Baby Mozart and pray she will watch...Put in laundry, empty dryer, make up Kid 2's bed - baby is crying again. Find her more toys and make up the rest of the beds. Kid #3's bed is wet - strip it down to wash the sheets. Baby is crying, pick her up and play with her, sit down to nurse and rock her - she is off to sleep. Continue with laundry Load #2 and 3. Sweep food off kitchen floors, mop and vacuum. Do I have time to take a shower? Jot down grocery items baby food, wipes, cereal and oh yeah deodorant for me...Check on baby (stillasleep). Clean the bathroom, sweep the stoop. Baby is awake. Phone is ringing. Make doctors appointment, log on to computer to pay a few bills. School has called Kid #3 has spilled a drink on her shirt. Load baby, back to school with a new shirt. Baby screaming (hates the car) we go back home.

11:30am: Give baby a snack, pick up kids rooms, get meat out for dinner. Rock and nurse the baby -she goes to sleep. Call my mother (to avoid the guilt trip). Mother in law calls to ask about kids. Jump in shower. Shampoo in my hair, baby is screaming, jump out soaking wet and get baby, bring her in the bathroom sit her in her bumbo to finish my shower. Try to play peek-a-boo while rinsing conditioner. Forget to shave my legs. Get dry, get dressed and back to school to pick up kid #3. Carpool line is long, entertain baby in the car. Cell phone ringing constantly.

1:45pm - Pick up Kid#3 and off to school #2 to wait in line for Kid 1 and 2.
3:00pm - All kids are picked up, on our way home. Baby is crying (still hates the car)
3:20pm - Home we are. Fix snacks
