I am a strong and fundamental believer in the idea as out lined in the US Constitution in the First Amendment. To have an introduction of religious, philosophic idealism introduced into the secular nature, and function of government is abomination, and gross denigration of civil liberties to say the least! It is one of the Founding Fathers main points in that particular charter. Must be important to be entered into the First Amendment. Not the second; So the idea must be even more important than owning a firearm. Not the third; so it's even more important than not having military personnel shack up with you without your consent.
Out of the many amendments the idea of the separation of church and state rules the day right up there with the right to speak you mind. One of the most basic of ideas. If say there was an integrations of the Secular government and religion it would prove to be an absolute fiasco. The Government could well be subject to the having to pander to various religious idealist, more than in the present. You might even see a church or perhaps a temple even on K street in Washington where the rest of the lobbyist are. That's not the America I want to live in.
In closing just let me conclude Theocratic order in a democratic social structure that's already torn at the seems. Will not fair so well I'm afraid. If that were to happen at a time with a need for unity an absolute must. Such as is the case in this post nine eleven world. We'll be divided all the more. At point and time in history where unity is paramount Is that what's best for the country as a whole? I don't believe so?
