Balance is a matter of balancing all parts of yourself. We are souls in a human body. The very fact that we are in a human body tells us that we are not meant to be allowing only input solely from our souls to lead and to guide us. To be balanced we need to allow input from all areas of our lives and this includes our ego. The trick of not becoming unbalanced is not to allow any one part of us to control all or every part of us.

We are soul firstly, but even so we should allow our human emotions, feelings and experiences and our ego to teach us also. We should allow life and other souls to teach us as well and it is good to see the teacher in everybody that comes to us. We should in short learn from all of life, and not from just one part of life or one part of us. This is balance.

Anguish and pain is the glue that holds or keeps the ego together. Is this true? The ego always want to manufacture more anguish to keep itself intact, as anguish is the glue that is holding it in place as it is.

The ego of itself is not in control. It just thinks or begins to think that it is. This is mainly because the ego manufactures pain by wanting to have what it hasn't got already, and so you feel anguished and unhappy until you attain what you think it wants in order to be satisfied.

The ego can never be satisfied in this way because it's not in its nature to be satisfied. The ego is not however a villain here. It is only playing its exact role that it was created for. This role is to allow different opposite experiences to visit you which would normally never come to the perfect soul that you are. Experiences can come from all directions, including the negative and the positive.

The ego plays the villain, but it is really the helper. It gives the only reality that our soul knows a jump by allowing it to see the opposite for a minute and which then allows real knowledge indirectly to manifest itself in it from the negativity. Positivity only knows that it's positive when it is allowed to see the negative, and this is what the ego does for you so admirably. In these lower worlds, ego plays itself off against your soul in order for your soul to gain real live experience, and not just to stay with its higher but only theoretical theories of living.

The ego serves soul in this way, but soul must inform ego that it is the one serving it and not the other way around. The ego is a good servant, but when you let it try to be the master it will lead you down the garden path of more unhappiness,
