Should Labor Day in the US honor workers or summer? Labor Day should honor US workers. Americans work really hard and they all deserve a day for themselves. When ever I talk with my friends and family they tell me they look forward to Labor Day. They usually like to cook out with friends, go to the beach, or just relax at home and do absolutely nothing because it is Labor Day.To my family and friends Labor Day is for them to relax.The holiday in a way is an Appreciation Day for all US workers hard work that they have done during the year. I am sure that there are many other people that feel the same way.Sure, Labor Day happens to be during the summer and some of your favorite activities; like sunbathing or going to the swimming pool are summer activities but these activities occur mostly in the summer anyway.Labor Day is a holiday that just happens to be during the summer that US workers can enjoy doing what ever makes them happy.I can definitely respect that.
