Poetry: Arrogance

by Kevin J. Putnam

Created on: August 31, 2007

One must laugh
to find away
thru the pitiful
fruit of false image.

the strut, cadence
and attitude
blended to a
fine inner gauge.

of what really
is being masked by
the arrogance, bravado
put on parade!

Wonder what fear
lies... inner, beneath
the glittering white
teeth, that barricade.

Danger lurks deep
in ids, egos, and
a womb of deceit'
that loss has made.

One must laugh
with the wind
trees and fools
while the poser fades.

it is between the senses
of what is
being expressed
with loudness, gestures
eyes wide and stance frozen.

kindness lurks deep
swooning for attention.
To give a little might
help the lighten the charade.
