A persons freedom of religion is one of the most basic of fundamental rights afforded to all United States citizens. This does not put one religion above another or discredits any religion.
A persons religion is a part of their soul and this is why the government cannot regulate or control it. There is no right or wrong only a persons beliefs. This is why we afford the same rights to all religions; "a freedom to worship without government intervention". For that matter there is no form of intervention and sometimes this causes a very bad ugliness to rear its head such as in Jones-town and Waco. Were these religions wrong? Who knows we all have and are entitled to our beliefs.
We have choices though. We have the choice to choose our own religion and to decide whether or not we listen to a preacher and what he says. We have to rely on our own knowledge and belief and trust ourselves to make the right decisions about what we hear from the pulpit.
The government cannot decide what preachers say because no man knows if a preacher is right or wrong. Only our inner self and the ultimate wisdom we have attained in our religious experiences have the ability to tell a preacher what we will listen to; but then, even we cannot tell them what to say.
