I don't believe in love at first sight. I think that love is felt with the heart and not seen with the eyes. I don't think love can be felt in an instant. It's something that grows.
Lust, however, can be felt instantly and has very little, if anything at all, to do with love. Lust is a fleeting thing where love is enduring.
I've felt an attraction for someone instantly and pursued a relationship because of the intensity of the attraction. Love could have grown, I suppose but it didn't. I was more enamoured by the idea of him than in love with who he actually was. It takes time to get to know someone. You can't KNOW someone from gazing at them. How can you love someone you really don't know? Infatuation is tricky that way. It's a very short-lived kind of thing also.
Love sees past the things that annoy you, past faults and being human. Lust and infatution do not.
I think attraction is often confused with feelings of love but the real test is time.
