I think so long as you have a valid reason to need an SUV rather than a normal car, then i see no moral reason why you shouldn't buy one.
Most people who do buy one of course don't have any particular reason for them, in most other countries in the world, SUVs are only bought if you live in the countryside, and either have poor quality roads or need to go off road sometimes, or have things to tow frequently, which requires a more powerful car.
Most people here however just buy them to look good, or because the enjoy the feeling of driving them and being higher up than other drivers.
Some modern SUV models aren't even capable of their intended purpose, they cant go off road and cant take a lot of punishment or do a lot of work, which is what the SUV was built to do.
The main argument many have against buying SUV cars is that they are very large, and so use a lot more gas, which of course damages the environment a lot more then the lower emissions from normal cars.
Also if an SUV is in a collision with either a smaller car, or a motorcycle or a pedestrian, then they always cause a lot more damage to the other party, and the mortality rate of people in collisions with SUVs is much higher than if someone were to collide with a normal car.
But as long as you have a real valid reason why you need this type of car over a more economic one, then you should continue to by them.
