The first thing that most visitors should consider before visiting England is the exchange rate. This is especially true if you are coming from the USA as most of you are (using the word England is something North Americans do very much.)

The first thing to remember is- everything is expensive unless it is free!

That is right. Our tax is higher than the USA but the state spends approximately $75.000.000.000 on entertainments and cultural events every year.

This means that some activities that are expensive in the USA are very cheap here- Opera for example costs about the same as a large McDonald's meal.

You will be paying European levels of tax from the the state.

Your choice of B&B is determined by your choices of areas to visit. Consider Yourh Hostels as well- they are very cheap and civilized now. Just remember that spending a lot of money will not improve your holiday by very much. Enjoy.
