Understanding democracy

Benito Mussolini said, "Fascism should more properly called corporatism, since it is the merger of state and corporate power." The government literally has no choice but to bend to the will of powerful MNCs. The only way a politician is ever acting on their own will is if they themselves are owners or have invested interest in a MNC (ahem Cheney cough Bush cough cough Halliburton). So, it should go without saying that the only way to control the government is to control the MNCs.

How do we do that?

The government maintains control by ruling with the Motto: Order out of Chaos; Divide and Conquer. A people divided can't hold their government accountable. To quote, from the movie V for Vendetta, "The people should not be afraid of their government. The government should be afraid of their people." There is a delicate balance between the rulers and the ruled, and that balance has been disrupted for quite some time. It is the general public's responsibility to keep their government in check. When a government doesn't truly represent the values and wishes of its people, it is the people's duty to revolt. Einstein said, "The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." Unfortunately, media manipulation and the capitalistic system have been leveraged in a way that effectively prevents camaraderie and unity among citizens. It's a dog eat dog world not because people are innately that way, but because defining parameters of the culture have dictated so. They created the false idol of money for us all to worship and squabble over; while laughing at the fact that we all think the system is fair.

We all want change, but most feel powerless to do anything about it. We think, "What can I do? One person can't make a difference." To an extent that's both a true statement, and understandable reasoning for copping out. Most would gladly contribute their support to a cause if a significant number of others were also doing so, and if it looked as if it would be successful. It's a classic case of "I would if they would." Well, it's time to find out just how many people will live up to that mode of thinking.

Few stop to realize how amazing MySpace is. Sure, people think it's cool, and many appreciate various aspects of it. But nearly all grossly underestimate and fail to see the indescribable magnitude of its power. MySpace is something that has never been seen in the history of the human species.
