For those of us who are looking to make a few extra dollars, the world of "Paid to Click" can seem like a goldmine. We've all seen the ads; they pop up like annoying little mosquitoes, promising big bucks all from the privacy of your own home.
These sites promise a payout for every time you click a link, and the pay ranges from $.01-.50 per link. Look deeper though and you'll see the truth. One of thhe biggest sites out there, and one recommended by many, has paid out just over $1,700 since it was launched...in 2005. If you consider that they currently have almost 14,000 members, that means that each member has made a little over a dollar.
There are some people who make 20 bucks a month and are happy, but there are many more who sign up and then walk away. These are the people who realize that after just a few short hours, their email box is flooded and decide it isn't worth it.
If you do decide to jump into this world, make sure to do your homework. Never pay for a site, and keep careful track of the links you do click. I've heard hundreds of stories about people not being paid for their work, and even more from people who have never received anything from the sites that promised to pay.
