Honestly, this topic sickens me.
How can you debate the right of a child to live?
Yeah, I know I'm going to catch flack from all the women. "What do you know, you're a guy?"
And I'll probably get some surprised responses from Christians seeing as how I have written many "Anti-religious" articles.
But you know what?
You don't have to believe in God to know that abortion is murder.
Let's just look at the basic arguments.
"It's a woman's body"
Is it?
Then why does it have a separate cardiopulmonary system?
How can it have a different blood type?
How can it have a different DNA structure?
I could go on and on, but won't. The point is made. It is NOT a woman's body, it IS a baby.
And it is EXTREMELY selfish of a woman to kill that baby because it might somehow inconvenience her.
Being poor is no excuse.
Who is to say that baby won't overcome it's beginnings and be a boon to mankind?
I once debated this in a chat-room. The debate ended when I said, "Right now, in the streets of Harlem a poor black child is about to be born that will overcome all obstacles, rise out of the ghetto, and find a cure for cancer.....oh wait,..never mind. The mother just aborted him"
Oh well.
Now before all you baby killers try to classify me, let me tell you my story.
You say a man doesn't have a right to express a view on abortion?
May I politely say "Go intercourse yourself" (At least that way you won't get pregnant)
When I was 19, I got my 16 yr old girlfriend pregnant. We talked about abortion and even made an appointment. But I just couldn't do it. Because even at 19 I knew I didn't have the right to kill a baby because of my ignorance and or stupidity.
I stayed with this girl, married her, and we had 2 more children.
Things did not work out however, and we ended up getting divorced.
I retained custody of all 3 children.
Why? Because my ex-wife had shown that the children would be an "Inconvenience" to her chosen life-style.
Sure, they would inconvenience the way I wanted to live too, but there is such a thing as responsibility.
So from 1994 on, I raised 3 kids on my own, while working full-time.
Did I want to? No.
Maybe I should have killed them so I could have lived the life I wanted.
Does that sound callous? Hmm is that any more callous than killing a baby?
What difference should a few years make?
If you can kill a baby, why not a child?
The motivation is the same. Why should one be legal and the other illegal?
It all comes down to responsibility.
