I awoke with such trepidation.
There was something I wanted to do.
Something to make me believe in myself,
something I felt I just had to prove.
Physically I knew I could do
all of the work it would take,
but the thought of going all alone
made my hands literally shake.
You gave to me all your support
and then talked some sense into me.
You encouraged me in every way
and dried my tears so I could see.
I gathered up all of my courage
and then headed out on my way,
to do a task so badly needed,
it was my contribution for the day.
I got there and joined right in
to preserve a piece of history.
The feeling of accomplishment
shown on my face for all to see
I realized something that day.
That the old saying is indeed true;
"when you give of yourself freely,
the one always rewarded is you."

The Feather
I carry a seagull feather
In my notebook wherever I go
I use it as my inspiration
For courage, when I need it to

I'll turn my courage into wings
And fly away soon
Now matter when
I always believe in you
If I'm with you
I can cross over to
Lord give me courage”
Lord, give me the courage to face each day
Help me to be brave and do things your way

With so much fear, you moved
Silent and alone
In and around and though it
With so many obstacles to move
Willed and stubborn
You

Hear Me, See Me, Know Me
the serenade is ambivalent
yet resigned to disappointment
sad eyes through masked smile
no focus
