Dear husband, do you really know what your wife wants and desires from you? If not, perhaps the following will provide some ideas on the subject. Whilst some of these may seem simple and automatic, it does not harm to remind ourselves about them from time to time.
Above all perhaps, wives want their husbands to be faithful and loyal. A husband who strays will create more hurt within the life and feelings of their wife than they can ever imagine. If you really love your wife why would you want to stray anyway, whatever the temptation? Loyalty and faithfulness are two of the bands that keep a relationship pure and special in the eyes of your wife.
Ladies also want to be cherished; to be treated in a special way that acknowledges the wonderful person they are and how much they mean to their husbands. The way that a man acts with and treats his lady will, to her, show just how much she is respected and loved and this is important. Part of cherishing your wife is learning to listen to her with understanding, being there when she has a need to talk, helping when she is feeling low. All of these are part of the caring and cherishing role that wives love so much in their husbands.
Husbands are partners in a marriage and a wife will be overjoyed if their man lives up to the true meaning of that word. By this I mean the sharing, and here we are not just talking about sharing love and affection. Sharing also relates to the myriad of practicalities in a married life. It should not be seen that the lady is the homemaker and the man the breadwinner. Husbands need to share the roles in the house as well. Men can iron, wash, cook, and clean the house just as proficiently as their wives. Therefore they should take these tasks upon themselves whenever they can, without having to wait to be asked. It is not really that hard and will make so much of a difference to the way a wife feels about her husband.
One element of the relationship that we husbands do sometimes forget is the romantic side. It is not difficult when you have been married for a while, to stop courting your wife. This does not mean that you love her any less, just that it is not being shown in the way that you did before you were married. But romance is important to a lady and, when you think it through, it also gives the man a great feeling. Courting should end with a walk up to the altar. Dating and courting should continue all through your married life as it keeps it alive and fresh and, as we all know, every lady loves surprises. So go on, make a date with your wife or surprise her with a gift of romance.
Finally, and encompassing all of the other wants and desires, you wife will want to be loved. To feel that emotional desire within you that is just for her will be the warmest and most joyful way you can let her know how much she means. So love, cherish, respect and share with your wife and, in return, you will have someone special who will commit to you forever.
