You Without Me
Oh what can it be
When I see you without me
The uneasiness of it all
And wrestling with my heart
Of being alone till death do me part.
O how can it be you without me
Wandering this earth aching
For love and tenderness that has
Seemed to allude me. O help me
Please find the passion and serenity
That has escaped me.
O why can you be without me
I am so aching and yearning for you
These feelings of apathy must escape me
For there has to be someone out there
That can remove this emptiness within
My heart and complete me.
O where are you without me
As I continue to seek the love of my life
You walk across my mind so tenderly
Haunting me, teasing me, and avoiding me
Playing with my heart so unknowingly
O where are you without me
O who are you without me
As I awaken another day seeking you
Maybe someway I will find you and say
I am here; I am here waiting for you to
Take my hand and guide me through
Life without sorrow to an enchanting eternity.

Poetry: If you were gone
You Without Me
Oh what can it be
When I see you without me
The uneasiness of it all
And wrestling with my heart
Of being alone
We only met two years ago
But you are a constant in my life
The one thing that keeps me steady
When everything else is full
If you were gone
My life would be so much simpler
No calling to check on you
No going to pick up your mail
No going to pick
While I am here with you,
Close to my heart you will stay.
Never did I imagine
A love so fine.
With you,
My heart sings.
Because
by Helen Stuart
If you were gone
I'd have no reason to listen
For pick-up motors roaring
Into the driveway.
No smell of cigars
On your flannel
